Imagery

A cooling, autumnal afternoon. The sun still offers a mellow warmth, inducing the rich, sweet perfumes of hedgerow fruits to linger until dusk. Blackbirds and squirrels rush about, harvesting blackberries, elderberries and acorns in preparation for the approaching winter. Leaves overhead are bronzing by the day, some already fallen, crunching underfoot.
